How I Met Your Mother

Will leave with keywords - rains, bus stand, classroom, last bench, first bench, the run. Finally, on the last season of this never ending series. I can't believe I have watched almost 12 years of "How I Met Your Mother." And in the 9th season they have finally introduced "The Mother." It is not exactly like "Friends." But yeah ... I will give it to them ... concludes a hell of a ride ...

Wow! The last episode is the perfect ending. Hats off to the directors ... That is exactly what life is all about!! :-) You nailed it.

The Claw

Nobody knows the beginning of how "The Claw" came into existence, but we know that it exists since the beginning of time. Nobody understands the claw, but we do know that it does wake up and sleep every now and then - without notice and without any particular cycle. The claw definitely needs a host to survive but we do know that it doesn't eat or drink. It is hard to figure out if the claw is alive, but it surely has feelings.

And there is one thing about a magic sequence of words that invites the claw as your guest - "Hi Claw! If you are listening to me please leave this hand!!" This innocuous sentence actually ends up inviting the claw to you.

US Visa Payment Linking

If you are applying for a US Visa, you have to pay the fee prior to your Visa interview. You are required to make the payment via NEFT. What really intrigued me though was how will they manage to ascertain and link my application with my payment. Afterall, I am simply required to make a payment. Am I supposed to write something special in the description while making the payment or are there going to be further steps involved where I am required to give some receipt number for that link to work properly.

As it turned out this was hardly complicated but a new system which I was introduced to by US Visa fee payment only. It's called Unique Beneficiary Account Number (UBAN). So basically, when they requested to make the payment - they gave me an account number which was unique to my application and hence a payment done in that account number implies the application process stands complete.

Pretty neat ... I must say.

Polar Twins

The medical term for my twins is monochorionic diamniotic. So basically they are identical twins. These kind of twins don't run in the family and are simply a random occurrence. This is like an exciting mystery we live with everyday that brings us - loads and loads of joy.

I came across another question under the same vertical. Well, as of now it more of a theory or just a concept. There is no medical proof, test or studies that exist to ascertain the same. But the concept revolves around polar twins.

It essentially involves the female sex cell - ova, undergoing a process of division called meiosis to reproduce. The resulting 4 granddaughter haploid cells have half a set of chromosomes. One of the four egg cells called oocyte is available for fertilization and the rest typically fade away called polar bodies. But as per the concept of polar body twinning, both the oocyte and polar body would somehow fertilize resulting in twins.

So in theory, polar twins share 75% of the genetical makers which is less than identical twins but more than fraternal twins. And they surely do look similar but not exactly alike. Alas! Its just a theory and that is one more mystery in my Sherlock Holmes life.
