One Life

That's the poster I wake up to every morning ;-)
  • This is your life.
  • Do what you love, and do it often.
  • If you don't like something, change it.
  • If you don't like your job, quit.
  • If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV.
  • If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love.
  • Stop over analyzing, life is simple.
  • All emotions are beautiful when you eat, appreciate every last bite.
  • Open your mind, arms and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences.
  • Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them.
  • Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself.
  • Some opportunities only come once, seize them.
  • Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating.
  • Life is short.
  • Live your dream and share your passion.
  • Stop making excuses.
  • Take responsibility.

✔ #001 - Write A Simple Poem Deep Diving On Art Of Life

I felt so alone as I was looking for like minded people,
Only to realize I am unique and opposites complement.
And now everything around feels like home.

I used to hid my face inside sand like a camel before storm,
Only to realize people and situation don't change.
And they simply need to be accepted as they are.

I thought you defined my very existence,
Only to realize that your comments were just a passing thought.
And I can no longer be a football of your opinions.

I jumped on every occasion making fault-finding my mission,
Only to realize your mistakes just happened.
And it was foolish of me to find intentions.

I lived my life in past pains and future worries,
Only to forget my very name. Come on Abhijeet live in the present.
And all you need to do is - win this moment.

For ups and downs are part of life,
And smiling through them is art of life.
---Abhijeet---

Vampire Diaries

I am just finished with the Vampire Diaries - all 8 seasons. Thanks to Amazon Prime Videos. And I must say, I was pretty much consumed with it - the last few weeks. Few of the dialogues were simply mind boggling.

But after everything and going through ever personality and aspect and perspective in the show, I am just drawn to one simply conclusion that I can only say in Hindi - Babu Moshai Zindagi Badi Honi Chahiye Lambi Nahi!

We Ain't Ever Getting Older

Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you
I drink too much and that's an issue
But I'm OK
Hey, you tell your friends it was nice to meet them
But I hope I never see them
Again

I know it breaks your heart
Moved to the city in a broke-down car
And four years, no calls
Now you're looking pretty in a hotel bar
And I, I, I, I, I can't stop
No, I, I, I, I, I can't stop

So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older

You look as good as the day I met you
I forget just why I left you,
I was insane
Stay and play that Blink-182 song
That we beat to death in Tucson,
OK

I know it breaks your heart
Moved to the city in a broke-down car
And four years, no call
Now I'm looking pretty in a hotel bar
And I, I, I, I, I can't stop
No, I, I, I, I, I can't stop

So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older

So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older
No, we ain't ever getting older

P.S. I Love You

So valentine's is around the corner and so is my anniversary. It has been years since we got married but I can absolutely say this with surety - ups and downs are part of life, but this ride is nothing without you by my side - my lovely dear wife. And to tell you a secret, there are very few things I have been so sure about.
I just want few simple things - that we have a good life full of happinesses. We prioritize our things right and have no regrets. And that we get amazed by little things in life and that we often come across those wonderful beautiful moments that take your breath away.

And I can only have those feelings with you. Hence, if our relationship were a stock, know this - I am very very bullish and going very very long on it. Amen!

On Cloud Nine

Unable To Contain Happiness In Heart - Well, there are certain sentences I can best convey in Hindi. And it comes out really awkward if I try to put the same in English. As evident from the heading here, I just tried to translate a one liner from an old hindi song - Roop Tera Aisa.

Anyhow, this is so deep and literally so enriching. Hence, I am going to put the lyrics of the whole song herein -

Haaregaa jab koi baaji, tabhi to hogi kisi kaa jit
Dost yahin duniyaa ki rit, tumhen mubaarak man kaa mit

Rup teraa aisaa darpan men naa samaaye
Khushbu tere tan ki madhuban men naa samaaye
Ho mujhe khushi mili itani ke man men naa samaaye
Palak bnd kar luan, kahin chhalak hi naa jaaye

Mujhe naa mili jo wo khushi tu ne paai
Ai dost mubaarak ho tujhe pyaar ki shahanaai
Dua mere dil ki daaman men naa samaaye
Tujhe pyaar mile itanaa jiwan men naa samaaye

Mit meraa chhin liyaa tu ne chhab dikhaake
Sadaa use rakhanaa palakon pe tu bithhaa ke
Itanaa sukh denaa, jiwan men naa samaaye
Yuan ras barasaanaa, aangan men naa samaaye

Currently, I am in the mode wherein I am listening to the song again and again for that one line - Ho mujhe khushi mili itani ke man men naa samaaye.

Any simili? How easily my babies manage to do it. Awww ...

Hygge

Denmark is rated as the happiest country in the world - time and again. It is worth knowing what these guys are doing differently. What is their secret?

Well, as it turns out, it's Hygge - pronounced Hooga! It is a very loosely defined word for it means many things. But basically it means a way of life - the danish way towards happiness. In one sentence, Hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family - that's hygge too. There is nothing more hygge than simply catching up together with friends and discussing the big and small things in life. Some other hygge examples are picnics in the park, barbecues with friends, outdoor concerts, street festivals and bike rides. However, hygge in your home can be a warm and cosy room full of candles, bright colors, not messy, good happy people laughing, loving and merry making.

Basically, Hygge is a philosophy, a way of life that has helped Danes understand the importance of simplicity. They let the time to unwind and slow down the pace of life. Its simply about living the present moment and enjoying the little things with family and friends.

Here is a little hygge we had today!!

Art Of Living

I recently had the pleasure of attending the happiness program from the art of living. It was one of its kind and really an eye opener. In my opinion Sri Sri Ravishankar has cracked the code of living life. I hope I am able to practice pranayam and sudarshan kriya on a daily basis. You have to go through the course to learn the art of living. But, the crux of it is in these sutras -
  1. Opposite values are complimentary to each other.
  2. Accept people and situation as they are.
  3. Don't be a football of others opinion.
  4. Do not see intentions behind others mistakes.
  5. Live in the present. The present moment is inevitable.
Ups and downs are part of life, smiling through them is art of life!

It will make a lot of sense if one actually attends the course. Few teachers even suggest that every time you attend it, you get more in depth knowledge.

Bottomline - The present moment is inevitable. Our future worries and past memories are actually hiding in the present moment. We just can't escape from the present. All we have to do is wake up and win this small single moment. Let the game begin - One, Two, Three ... Go!
